HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

We at The Mesocosm™ Project want as much involvement as possible from as many people from all over the world. Use our Contact Us link to express your particular area of interest and skill set.

There are many ways to join The Mesocosm™ Project. For example, there will be significant opportunities for patent attorneys to protect the massive amount of IP that The Mesocosm™ Project will generate. The Project will also need expertise in many other areas.

Our aggressive 15-year Plan proposes three major domes to be completed by 2040: The first being an Agricultural Dome with a 5-year completion date, the second being an International Business Dome with a 10-year completion date, and by 2040 we will have the first Residential and Recreational Domes built.

There are opportunities for individuals of all skills and backgrounds to get involved as we ramp up planning for these Mesocosm™ Domes.

I live in a Nordic country, and struggle with the long, dark winters. Can the Mesocosm™ help me with that?

The good news is yes. Humans evolved much closer to the equator than the near-polar regions. As a result, people do best with the day and night cycles of the temperate latitudes. Inside a Mesocosm™ dome, daylight and darkness will follow the cycles of a moderate latitude. During dark winters, lighting mounted on the inside of a Mesocosm’s™ dome surface will provide the experience of normal daylight, matching the natural healthy spectrum of sunlight. Lighting will simulate the sun itself so that it appears as though the sun is moving across the sky in a normal manner, until it sets.

In the summer, the inner surface of a Mesocosm’s™ dome will variably block the sun to produce the experience of dusk, night and dawn. Mesocosm™ technology can create the visual effects of starry nights, the visibility of planets, and the appearance of the sun rising, moving and eventually setting at the end of each day. Certainly, those who prefer the local natural light cycles, need only step outside of the dome.

Depending upon what Mesocosm™ residents want, different climates and therefore different day/night cycles can be provided in different domes – such as, domes with tropical or sub-tropical days and nights. Likewise, the Mesocosm™️ will provide more moderate temperatures year-round. The entire climate of a dome, its day/night cycles, temperature and humidity can reproduce any of the earth’s climates.

WOULD THE MESOCOSM™ PROTECT US AGAINST GLOBAL DISASTERS?

One form of global disaster is climate change. However, since we are controlling the climate within the Mesocosm™ the inside climate will remain stable, even in the wake of external climate disruptions due to climate change. If it becomes too hot or too cold because of climate change, the climate and quality of life within the Mesocosm™ will remain unaffected.

The Mesocosm’s™ domes will shield its inhabitants, agriculture, and industries from nuclear fallout carried by the wind from the failure of an upwind nuclear reactor or a nuclear exchange.

There is also always the possibility of an asteroid winter associated with the impact of a large asteroid or meteor. This would create a massive amount of ash, but would also reduce the sunlight and the human capacity to grow food for an extended period of time. However, given that the domes of the Mesocosm™ will have lighting fueled by the region’s abundant low-cost energy, Mesocosm™ residents would be in a good position to survive the aftermath of an asteroid impact winter.

Residents of the Mesocosm™ would therefore be much less impacted by the radical climate changes that could occur within our lifetime or in the lifetime of our children.

HOW WILL THE MESOCOSM™ IMPROVE THE ECONOMY?

The Mesocosm™ Project can improve a country’s economy in many ways. Because we are Re-Imagining Technology from first principles, we will be creating a number of sophisticated and fundamentally new technologies for human habitation, industry, and agriculture … for all aspects of human life.

These new technologies will result in an abundance of new IP and spin-off companies, reducing the need for imports, while increasing exports. Where it is cost-effective to implement these technologies abroad, countries implementing Mesocosm’s™ will be able to export our IP, creating more income. For example, our Agricultural Dome will have the ability to optimally grow lower-cost food while reducing the need for expensive imports. Crops grown in the Mesocosm’s™ Agricultural Dome will be uniquely pure, supporting the branding of these products for premium export prices.

Re-Imagining Technology will not only result in IP, but will also result in the development of a critical mass of unique expertise…stimulating even more innovations that in turn will result in robust business and jobs pipelines.

Because Mesocosms™ can be built in locations where there is abundant high-quality clean energy (but may not be well-suited to human habitation at this time), those areas can become centers for new industries to grow.

The Mesocosm™ will attract the finest minds both domestically and internationally. The convergence of unique thought leadership will expedite economic development and the unique expertise itself will be exportable, creating exciting opportunities for host countries.

WHERE WILL THE MESOCOSM™ BE LOCATED?

Anywhere there is low-cost clean energy will make an excellent location for a Mesocosm™. Because the climate inside of a Mesocosm™ is not impacted by external weather conditions, a Mesocosm™ can thrive in any climate. For example, Northern Iceland has many locations with very high-quality geothermal heat that can successfully power Mesocosms™. There are also locations in Iceland, Canada and other countries that are hydroelectric-energy rich. These would be great locations for Mesocosms™, especially since some have climates that are challenging.

Globally, there are many locations well-suited to the production of other sources of low-cost green electricity, such as solar, wave and wind-based. However, they are remote from potential users or even a grid. Positioning Mesocosms™ in such locations can be practical even where the local climate is not well suited to human habitation.

The new generation of nuclear reactors can also provide large-scale inexpensive energy and can power Mesocosms™ just about anywhere.

As controlled fusion becomes commercially viable, we will be able to put Mesocosms™ everywhere.

HOW WILL THE MESOCOSM™ HELP US DEAL WITH THE EFFECTS OF EXTREME WEATHER?

Weather (such as cold, wind, storms and extreme heat) will not impact residents of the Mesocosm™. Within the Mesocosm™, we will be controlling the temperature, the humidity and other conditions to provide optimal weather year-round.

The Mesocosm’s™ use of large domes makes it cost-effective to control the contained environment because of the resulting very small surface-area-to-volume ratio. Therefore, the heat and humidity transfer through the surface is minimized relative to the amount of air being controlled.

Different Mesocosm™ domes can be designed to have different climates.

WILL THE MESOCOSM™ PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT?

There are two primary goals of the Mesocosm™. The first is to create an optimal environment for human habitation. The second is to protect Nature from the impact of human habitation and industry.

An important factor that will lead to the success of these goals is the fact that the Mesocosm™ will be contained within one or more interconnected domes.

Being a sealed environment, it will be much easier to control what goes out of the Mesocosm™ into Nature. Mesocosm™ designs will minimize the production of waste and make it easy to collect and nullify. As a result, we can prevent harmful human waste from contaminating the environment.

By separating human activity from Nature, The Mesocosm™ Project will provide what is best for both.

WHAT SOCIAL ACTIVITIES WILL THE MESOCOSM™ OFFER?

Obviously, any number of conventional activities can occur within the Mesocosm™, however, given the Mesocosm’s™ temperate environment, year-round socializing can be much easier than it currently is in many parts of the globe.

We are planning high-quality playgrounds for children within Mesocosm™ living communities, incorporating advanced safety and imaginative design that will be unparalleled anywhere else on earth.

We are Re-Imagining recreation for teenagers and adults in a Recreation Dome that will offer some rather unique experiences. For example, the MesoCoaster™ will be a massive rollercoaster that starts at the top of the Recreation Dome’s interior, following one or more paths along the Dome’s inner surface, then taking riders through other parts of the dome. The inside surface of the Recreation Dome can act as one or more displays providing amazing visual experiences, augmenting the experience of the MesoCoaster™ and other rides within that dome.
During the Holidays, the Recreation Dome will transform into a Holiday wonderland as this rollercoaster ride will be combined with light shows and Holiday imagery.

The Recreation Dome will also offer stunning nightlife, up-scale farm-to-table restaurants, bars, and a world stage that will be a destination for entertainers from around the globe.

CAN UNIVERSITIES PARTNER WITH THE MESOCOSM™?

The Mesocosm™ Project will be an open project. We want to make sure that the best minds are contributing to it. As such, we are very open to developing partnerships with universities, and encourage direct participation from students, professors and academic programs worldwide.

The Mesocosm™ Project’s Re-Imagining Technology is a set of thought processes. Through partnership and collaboration, university professors and students will have the opportunity to explore and adopt those thought processes. This will benefit The Mesocosm™ Project and the Re-Imagining of Technology everywhere on the planet.

Universities offer fresh minds with new ideas, and we encourage members of that community to help us design the future. We therefore see a very strong synergy between the Mesocosm™ Project and academia.

WILL THERE BE ROOM FOR EVERYONE TO LIVE IN THE MESOCOSM™?

The first Mesocosm™ that is erected will serve as an economic engine that will help fund additional Mesocosms™. Depending upon the population density of the particular host country, scaling plans can be put in place to address the housing requirements of that region.

WILL HOUSING IN THE MESOCOSM™ BE AFFORDABLE?

One very important part of The Mesocosm™ Project’s Re-Imagining Technology requires that the entire life cycle of each infrastructure element be as cost-effective as possible, while contributing to an optimal environment for its residents. Our Re-Imagining Technology approach will assure that automation will provide as many of the services within the Mesocosm™ as possible, which in turn will reduce the cost of living there.

Re-Imagining Technology will also result in new industries, automating the manufacture of products that will replace expensive imports. This becomes an economic engine that will also create higher paying jobs.

Re-Imagining Technology will turn low-cost energy into superior, high-margin products, reducing costs while increasing income-producing exports. For example, the Agriculture Dome’s extensive use of automation will provide low-cost, fresh, ultra-pure crops, eliminating the high import costs of certain foods. Because the resulting agricultural products will be superior and uniquely pure, we can partner with host countries in the creation of an internationally recognized MesoPure™️ brand. This brand can generate significant exports commanding premium prices. This, in turn, will reduce the cost of living, especially within the Mesocosm™.

The Mesocosm™ Project will produce excess income that can impact the overall cost of housing.

WILL THE MESOCOSM™ CREATE JOBS?

The Mesocosm™ Project will create many high-paying jobs. The Mesocosm™ Project is Re-Imagining Technologies to create an optimal human habitat. Agriculture and a number of basic industries will require a significant long-term research and development effort, creating numerous jobs in many fields of engineering, science, computer science, etc.

The manufacture of the initial and subsequent Mesocosms™ will employ people from a variety of industries, while creating important spinoff industries and companies. The design and building of Mesocosms™ and the products that they will create will result in unique, high-demand expertise that can be leveraged at home or in the international community.

HOW WILL AIR QUALITY BE CONTROLLED IN THE MESOCOSM™?

Like all parts of the climate inside of the Mesocosm™, the air quality will be maintained at the highest levels of purity. Because the air will be contained in the Mesocosm™, we will be able to purify it using conventional air purification technologies and develop new ones where necessary.

An important design goal of The Mesocosm™ Project’s Re-Imagining Technology is that all elements of the Mesocosm’s™ infrastructure will be designed and manufactured to minimize any negative impact on the environments inside and outside the Mesocosm’s™ domes. This will help keep the air and other parts of the Mesocosm’s™ climate pure.

The production of potential pollutants will be minimized. Any that appear in the Mesocosm’s™ environment will be removed and neutralized. None will be released back into the Mesocosm’s™ environment or into Nature.

I’M REALLY INTO HEALTHY EATING. CAN WE GROW FOOD IN THE MESOCOSM™?

Yes, we plan for our first dome to be an Agricultural Dome. This structure will replace the need to import expensive, often contaminated, foods and create the highest purity, low-cost fresh food for Mesocosm™ residents and beyond.

Because we will completely control the growing environment in the Agricultural Dome, we can make sure that the climate provided to each crop is optimized for that crop, and that the resulting food products are as pure and nutritious as possible.

For example, one potential crop is cocoa beans, from which chocolate is made. Presently, the best chocolate you can buy is still likely to be contaminated with lead and/or cadmium. By completely controlling the cocoa-growing environment within the Agricultural Dome, we can assist host countries in growing cocoa beans to produce the finest chocolate that is also free of contaminants.

Mesocosm™-grown cocoa beans and chocolate can become the gold standard worldwide, bringing premium prices to the global market. This offers host countries unique paths for further economic development and expansion. Likewise, other expensive agricultural products such as coffee beans can be grown in a Mesocosm™ climate, free of contaminants.

The Project currently offers four types of sponsorship opportunities: Founders, Champions, Community Partners and Silent Partners.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Through our Visionary Program, members of the public and private sectors can directly sponsor the work of The Mesocosm™ Project at four different levels. All sponsors within Tiers 1 thru 3 will be fully recognized as Visionaries throughout the Project’s lifecycle and expansion. Sponsorship Tiers will open in the Spring of 2025. Tier 1: Founders
Founders are members of the public or private sector sponsoring the Project at a minimum of $10,000,000 U.S.

Tier 2: Champions
Champions are members of the public or private sector sponsoring the Project at a minimum of $2,000,000 U.S.

Tier 3: Community Partners
Community Partners are members of the private sector sponsoring the Project at a minimum of $100,000 U.S.

Tier 4: Silent Partners
Silent Partners are members of the private sector who prefer unpublicized sponsorship options. This tier has no investment minimum.
