The Mesocosm™ Project will substantially improve the quality of life by innovatively employing regions of abundant low-cost, high-quality energy in order to build domed communities optimized for human activity. These domes will protect people from harsh environmental conditions while protecting the environment from the damage associated with human activity.

WELCOME TO THE MESOCOSM^™ PROJECT

To benefit Nature and Humanity, The Mesocosm™ Project plans to develop and operate Mesocosms™, that stand between the Macrocosm and Microcosm. Each Mesocosm™ has one or more interconnected domed environments optimized for human life, work, and play, while protecting Nature from that activity.

INSIDE THE MESOCOSM^™

Each Mesocosm™ dome will support a fully climate-controlled environment optimized for its function, such as: residential/work communities, recreation, industry, and agriculture. Each dome will be free from weather extremes such as high winds, storms, and very hot or cold temperatures. In far northern regions, living within the Mesocosm™ will provide residents with people-friendly daylight and darkness cycles like those of moderate latitudes. The Mesocosm’s™ domes will shield residents from environmentally-borne hazardous substances, such as volcanic ash, asteroid impact debris, and radioactive nuclear fallout. The Mesocosm’s™ internal climate control will protect its residents from the long-term effects of climate change.

SYNERGIES

Mesocosms™ can be built in any accessible region that is suitable for geothermal-electric, hydroelectric or other abundant low-cost energy sources. The development of Mesocosms™ in such regions, for example, offer exciting opportunities to make those areas much more habitable.

RE-IMAGINING TECHNOLOGY / MesoStandards^™

The Mesocosm™ Project will employ an innovative approach that we call “Re-Imagining Technology” to design every element (system, subsystem and part) at all levels of the Mesocosm™ infrastructure. Re-Imagining Technology embodies a set of standards that we call “MesoStandards™.

MesoStandards™ derive from our Mission to provide the optimal environment for human activity while protecting Nature.

MesoStandards™ stipulate that:

1. Each element must have the absolute minimum negative health impacts on the residents of the Mesocosm™;
2. Each element must have minimal negative lifetime impacts on the entire Mesocosm™ and Nature;
3. Mesocosms™ will use AI, Robotics and novel problem-solving approaches to fully automate the design, manufacture/building, installation, maintenance, upgrading, replacement, removal, and recycling of all Mesocosm™ elements;
4. Where ever possible, easily reconfigurable general-purpose solutions with highly-variable customizations that can be easily instantiated into a specific solution (and easily re-instantiated into another specific solution) will be utilized. The versatility of these solutions will provide individuals, families and communities the infrastructure of their choice even as that choice changes.
5. As an open engineering instantiation of the Scientific Method, Mesocosm™ design will undergo continuous review and refinement.
6. International collaboration will be encouraged to help identify the best current and new technologies to consider, and to assist with peer review throughout the process.
7. MesoStandards™ evolve.

The application of the expertise associated with Re-Imagining Technology will be applied to help solve other problems. Many of the products developed by Re-Imagining Technology will be novel and useful outside of Mesocosms.™ That IP and expertise will spin off into new industries such as products for domestic use and export. These new industries will create high-paying jobs and improve the economy. IP and expertise associated with those products will be exportable. The opportunity to participate in Re-Imagining Technology will attract some of the best minds in the world and increase opportunities for international collaboration.
